    Recruitment

This is how we hire, written as much for candidates, if you are thinking of interviewing with us, as it’s written for us at amarti. We try to run a process that is quick, honest and worth your time either way.

Skills matter, but they are not the whole picture. We are looking for:

    • Curiosity, and a genuine willingness to learn and to share what you know.
    • Composure when things are ambiguous, which most real work is.
    • Judgement and craft, over having memorised the right answers.
    • People who make a team better, because that is how we actually deliver.

    The shape is deliberately short:

    1. An intro conversation. A two-way chat to see if there is a fit, and for you to ask us anything.
    2. A practical session. Usually pairing on a small, realistic problem. We care how you work far more than whether you finish it.
    3. A conversation with the team. Your experience, how you approach problems, and the kind of work we do.
    4. A decision. We aim to be quick, and to tell you clearly where you stand.

We know an interview runs both ways. You are weighing us up too, and we would rather you joined with your eyes open than be talked into it.

    • The pairing is a normal working session. Use your own setup and the tools you actually reach for. We share the shape of it beforehand, so nothing is a cold open.
    • What we are observing is how you think, how you communicate, and how you handle something not going to plan, not whether you produce a flawless answer.
    • It is remote by default. We will tell you who you are meeting and roughly how long each part takes.
    • You will hear back either way, with feedback. We would not want to leave you guessing.
