This page is the practical side of joining amarti: what your first weeks look like, how probation works, and how you get paid. It is about how things happen here. Anything you are entitled to, like leave and sick pay, is a policy and lives under Policies.
Your first weeks
Section titled “Your first weeks”Joining should feel organised, not like a scramble for a laptop. Here is roughly how the first few months go, and who looks after each part.
- Before day one. We sort your kit and your accounts ahead of time, so you are not waiting weeks on access to get started. Workplace tech covers what you will be set up with.
- Day one. You meet your manager, get into the core tools, and we walk you through how we work.
- Your first week. You meet the wider team and pick up the context on the work or client you are joining. Nobody expects delivery yet; the aim is to find your feet.
- Your first month. You are contributing, and you and your manager keep a regular one-to-one to check how it is going, in both directions.
- Your first 6 months. These are your probation period, with a review at the end of it.
Probation
Section titled “Probation”Your first six months here are a probation period. It is not a test saved up for the end. Because you and your manager talk regularly, the review should hold nothing you have not already discussed.
A review ends in one of three ways:
- Confirmed. The usual outcome: things are going well and you carry on.
- Extended. We would like a little more time to see a clear picture, and we will be specific about what we are looking for and by when.
- Not passed. Rare, and never a surprise: it only follows a concern that has been raised, talked through and supported first.
Your manager owns the review, with support from the wider team where it helps. There should be no surprises in it, and none in how it arrives either: your manager will ask how you would like to hear the outcome, whether in person, on a call or in writing first, and will always follow up in writing.
How and when you are paid, and how your payslip reaches you, lives on the Pay page.
